Sucralose & Acesulfame Potassium - gut health, artificial sweeteners
by Tiffany Cox December 10, 2024
Seriously. What the hell?
Artificial sweeteners can make unappealing ingredients taste better, but their inclusion in "healthy" or weight-loss products often contradicts the purpose. Stevia and monk fruit, however, are natural alternatives worth considering.
Stevia and monk fruit extracts do not appear to cause the same negative effects as artificial sweeteners on insulin resistance, hunger regulation, or fat storage. In fact, they may provide modest metabolic benefits, particularly in improving insulin sensitivity and regulating glucose metabolism. 14,15
Stevia and monk fruit extracts are even linked to favorable gut microbiota changes. 13
So, when you look at a "super amazing healthy product" loaded in artificial sweeteners, maybe consider looking for a better alternative.
