Folate. The answer is folate or folic acid to help reduce perinatal depression symptoms.
In 2011, the research suggests otherwise. In 2015, the research seems to turn around and suggest it dose help reduce/prevent postpartum depression.
Folate is the natural version of vitamin B9. Folic acid is the synthetic version.
The suggested dosing is between 400-1,000 mcg per day.
