Solubilized Keratin (Keragen-IV™)

The hero ingredient of Hair Complex is Keragen-IV™, a next-generation keratin powder that can help with the production of collagen IV in order to strengthen hair follicles and nails.^{^*} There are 28 known types of collagen in the body with varying functions. Collagen IV is a binding protein that anchors a hair follicle deep into the skin or scalp and is necessary for strong, healthy hair.^*

Keratin is a key structural protein that provides support and a protective barrier for skin, hair, and nails. Inadequate keratin can lead to wrinkled skin, dull and thinning hair, and/or brittle fingernails. Sea buckthorn, or Hippophae rhamnoides L., is an ancient medicinal plant known as “holy fruit” in Tibet. In Eastern medicine, it was recommended for coughs, digestive problems, skin issues, wounds, and burns.^* More recently, scientists have discovered that it contains omega -3,- 6, -7, and -9 fatty acids, as well as vitamins and antioxidant compounds.

The genus “hippophae” originates from the Greek words “hippo” (meaning horse) and “phaos” (meaning to shine) due to the fact that ancient Greeks used sea buckthorn in horse feed to keep their coats shiny and smooth.^*
